There was a lot on the line in the last group stage match of this European Championship between Spain and Turkey with both teams still having a chance to advance to the semi-final. Reigning European champion Turkey got off to a better start. Striker Satay who played exceptional all game gave his team the 1:0 lead.

Goal-scoring opportunities remained scarce in a hard-fought, very physical match. So it came very unexpected when Spanish striker Martin tied the game at 1:1 – much to the delight of his teammates, coaches, and fans. His goal was to remain the deciding factor in who would advance to the semi-final. The 1:1 draw was enough for Spain to keep their second place in the group. They will be facing England tomorrow afternoon.
